Welsh Darts Premier League

Thursday 13th December 2007

Tynewydd Labour Club

Wayne Warren (Welsh International, Double Premier League Champion Gladiator of Darts, Yet again produces an unbelievable performance to defeat fellow International David Neads 7 – 1 12,13s and 14 darts legs with a 161 finish with Dai sat on tops, Wayne Warren 29.44 Dai Neads (25.83) you see player come and players go but Warren consistence is key to his success, He is Champion because he remains amongst the most dangerous players in WALES.

Next up for Wayne Warren is a Challenge match with the Brilliant Robert Hughes from West Wales he has finished top of there Premier and now wishes to play our Champion in a winner takes all probably in March.

Other Results the ever improving Andrew Rough Brecon County defeats Dale Hughes Glam County by 5 – 3 Andrew (28.61) Dale Hughes (27.14) Andrew Rough is a player who is raising the bar strong stance mentally strong and to my mind will be there or there about come the end of the season.

For Dale Hughes ever improving suffered 2 defeats also losing to John Burton (Gwent & ex International) although John won 5 – 3 it wasn’t against the Dale Hughes that I know and one thing you can be sure of he will start 2008 with a win.

Wayne Davies another player playing 2 games his first against Gary Taylor (Gwent) ended with him winning 6 – 2 Wayne (26.34) Gary (22.15) and his other game was against a man back to form and the only one to defeat Wayne Warren, Phillip Evans Fellow Welsh International although Davies playing well probably one of the best finishers in the game Phil Evans was in no mood to share the points and wins this one 5 – 3 Wayne (26.12) Phillip Evans (26.47)

Dale Pinch (Merthyr And Wales) and finalist in two finals over the weekend which were won by Wayne Davies (Matyrs) and Barry Which was won by Robert Hughes played well and defeated Cardiff and Glamorgan Steve Durnell 5 – 3 with the game tied at 3 – 3 an infamous toilet break from Mr Pinch coming at just the right time halted Steve Durnell comeback and maybe his concentration. Dale 24.89 Steve 24.19

So Here we go Wayne Warren is still the man to beat he may lose a game but he will always learn and move on from his defeats back to back wins of 7-1 a sign of a true Champion

Welsh Darts Premier League

)

The night begins at 8.15pm 7 matches 8 legs in each match, with the Champion being crowned mid April 08.Defending Champion & Welsh International Wayne Warren still the man to beat.

Wayne Warren is still the man to beat again another consistent performance to beat Pdc Dale Pinch 6 – 2 with a 29.60 as opposed to Dale 25.89, you see with Wayne Warren you have a Champion that doesn’t lie down and understands darts like know other player that I have met.

Another great performance was Andrew Rough lying second from bottom he defeats the brilliant Welsh International Wayne Davies by 5 legs to 3 with 29.82 ave with Wayne throwing 29.02. This was simply the Diamond in the Rough Andrew is a very talented dart player and one of Breconshire County top Dart players, he was focused and determined and got what he deserved.

Robert Alford (Caerphilly) moved into second place 7 points adrift of Warren, Robert had 2 x 12 dart legs and a 180 and today was just too strong for the ever improving Darron Crawford (Newport) Bert wins 7 legs to 2 with 27.47 ave.

Gary Taylor earns his second draw in the Premier League against David Neads but unfortunately was unable to find his was past sparring partner John Burton going down 6 legs to 2.

Phillip Evans against John Butler although Phil in excellent form after defeating Wayne Warren he was unable to get the win against a determined and class player such is John Butler this game although ending 4 – 4 was anything but a bore Draw,

Phillip Evans (Merthyr) 27.51 John Butler 28.38

Steve Durnell moves up to 5th with an inspired win over Dale Hughes although Dale was leading 3 – 0 he was unable to close the door on Steve who had legs 14,16,17,13,17 to win 5 – 3 with 27.36 ave.

Premier League now moves on to Tynewydd Labour Club December 13th 2007

Where upon Wayne Warren will look to consolidate possibly another Premier league title and prove once and for all there is only one Wayne Warren.

Premier League next season will be based in one Club,

There will be 3 individual leagues,

Premier consisting 12 players

1st division consisting 14 players

Welsh Darts Premier League

Thursday 18th October 2007

Tylorstown Workingmens Club (Tylorstown)

The night begins at 8.15pm 6 matches 8 legs in each match, with the Champion being crowned mid April 08.Defending Champion & Welsh International Wayne Warren still the man to beat.

First match on David Neads (Mountain Ash) v Andrew Rough (Rhymney) David looks to have returned to the form that bought him his welsh caps, Winning the first two legs with heavy scoring and immaculate finishing Andy hits back and with the throw opens up with 180 Dai returns in kind 180 and with Andy following with 60 and Dai with a 140 and taking the leg in 11 darts, This was how Dave continued to throw throughout the match if it hadn’t have been for one bad leg average would have been well over 30 per dart, He extends lead and with Andy taking the last Dave wins 6 – 2 Dave Neads (27.79) Andrew Rough (24.86)

Wayne Warren returns from World Cup duty with Wales finishing third and although not at his best was able to do what great players do digging out a result against The Bear Darron Crawford (Newport) with the Bear leading 3 – 2 and a shock on the cards Warren 15, 16, 16 darts to finish of a brilliant comeback. Wayne Warren wins 5 – 3

Wayne Warren (26.44) Darron Crawford (24.55)

New boy on the block Gary Taylor (Chepstow) has not had the easiest of starts in his first game he lost to the defending Champ Warren and now he plays the regenerated Dale Pinch who has just joined the pro tour (Pdc) if there is one player that looks absolutely transformed is Dale Pinch (Merthyr) an absolute joy to watch heavy scoring consistent finishing. Power power he wins this game 7 – 1. With the leg that Gary won in 15 darts with the throw taking out 86 with the bull Pinchy sat on tops. Say no more. Gary Taylor (23.86) Dale Pinch (29.76)

Phillip Evans Welsh International (Merthyr) v (Bert) Robert Alford (Caerphilly)

Phil Evans comes flying out of the blocks to lead 2 – 0 Bert hits back with 15 and 16 game all square, Phil goes again holds throw and then takes 15 dart leg against throw with 148 finish joyously punchs the air that seems to have woken the big man who hits back by taking the next 2 legs and this game is confirmed as a 4 – 4 Draw.

Phillip Evans (26.34) Robert Alford (26.74)

Steve Durnel (Cardiff) v John Butler (Ton Pentre) now from all accounts these are two players that will struggle this year and with both players averaging between 19 and 20 for the first two legs I could see why. All of a sudden it was like someone had set of a firework with the game tied at 1 – 1 John 13 Steve 14 John 15 Steve 15 John 14 and Steve 15 game is tied 4 – 4 and everyone in rooms was where did that come from brilliant match. Steve Durnel (26.97) John Butler (26.99)

Final game of the evening and home favorite Dale Hughes v in form Wayne Davies Welsh International (Caerphilly) Dale dominated proceedings yet found himself 3 – 2 down and must have been wondering what he has got to do, And with Dale throwing 140 , 140 , 140 , and taking the leg in 13 he must have thought tonight could be his night but everytime it looked like Dale Wayne would take the leg. So matter of fact the final leg with Wayne leading 4 – 3 Dale 140, 140, 140, 37, and with Wayne on 216 Dale hits the 18 going for 4 leaves 13 after his throw Wayne 180 Dale sees his darts land on the Wire, Wayne Davies 36 in one dart.

Dale Hughes (27.42) Wayne Davies (25.92)

With 6 players unbeaten the title is up for grabs Wayne Warren 2 from 2 Dale Pinch and Bert throwing the heavier Scoring Wayne Davies and Phillip Evans finishing looking immaculate and John Burton looking forward to Are next date in Neath.

Welsh Darts Premier League

Thursday 20th September 2007

Severn Bridge Club (Chepstow)

Welsh Darts Premier League returns with Wayne Warren (Welsh International) & defending Champion looking to retain his title and judging from his performance it will take a monumental effort from any one of the 13 players, to relinquish his grip from that title.

First Game on Wayne Warren v Gary Taylor (Chepstow) Qualifier. Wayne open the new season with a 180 and with it the first leg in 13 darts, Although Gary hits 4 x 100s in a row Wayne checks out 121 to lead 2 – 0 and then proceeds to take the next 3 legs to lead 5 – 0 Gary then finds some form with 2 17 dart legs, and with Wayne taking the last in 14 darts. Wayne wins 6 – 2

Second match Swansea open Champion Dale Pinch (Merthyr) v Robert (Bert) Alford Winmau World Qualifier 07 (Caerphilly) Dale Pinch storms to a 2-0 Lead 14 & 13 Dart legs Bert hits back with 3 x 180s 116 120 and 80 finish to lead 4 – 2 but the little man from Merthyr with the big heart hits 2 x 180s 14 dart 12 dart leg to tie this match at 4 – 4. Dale Pinch (30.19) Robert Alford (29.69)

Excellent win for Darron against a seasoned top darter. Darron Crawford (25.89) John Butler (26.35)

4th game On Phillip Evans (Merthyr) Welsh International v Dale Hughes (Ferndale) Phil powers in 15 and 17 darts to lead Dale hits back with 120, finish and 96 to draw level, Phil Evans once again leads 4 legs to 2 but once again Dale Hughes hits back.

4 – 4 Phillip Evans (27.20) Dale Hughes (26.45)

5th Match Steve Durnell (Cardiff) v The ever improving Andrew Rough (Rhymney) Although the last time these two players faced each other Steve was the victor, It was not to be the case on this night, with Andy doubling at well over 80% was truly in command and wins this match 5 – 3.

Steve Durnell (24.67) Andrew Rough (25.12)
